River Cottage Re-brand (concept)
This concept project focused on repositioning the River Cottage brand, primarily their restaurant sub-brand: River Cottage Canteen. At the time the brand had no clear logo, colours or fonts that were consistent and therefore did not have a clear visual brand identity, nor did it reflect the values of high quality, local produce that River Cottage is famous for.
I looked to rectify this and capitalise on the high quality produce by giving the brand a recognisable colour palette (orange and blue) and clean modern logo to reflect the quality; repositioning the brand as a fine dining establishment. To showcase locally sourced organic ingredients that River Cottage is famous for I overlaid the logo over bright blue pop- art style prints of a cow, pig and fish to reflect the sustainability of the company. This, paired with the rustic coloured paper and overlaid prints add to this aesthetic and evoke images of a home-made bucolic style with a touch of class.
The full River Cottage brand was considered with the modification to the logo to include only ‘River Cottage’ and I followed the clean and modern feel with a simple website design using the different animals to reinforce the brand image.
